About Us

My Grandparents John and Ann Jenkinson began farming in Garstang with 30 Jersey cows from the Heathwaite prefix established by Ann’s parents at their farm in Windermere.

They moved with my dad to Fordsyke Farm, Scaleby in 1990 and my parents were married the following year.

I was born four years later and my passion for the Jersey breed began before I could even walk!

For Christmas in 2005, I was given my first Jersey heifer bought from the local Jersey farm.

Farlam Adas Gloria had her first heifer calf in 2007 and I was able to establish my own prefix of Katherines with Katherines Elizabeth Excitation.

I now have a total of 41 Jerseys, 38 with the Katherines Jersey prefix, 2 with the Monument and one Bayview.

Encouraged by my mum, I attended my fist show in 2006 with Gloria.

Last summer we attended nine shows in Carlisle, Penrith, Lancashire, and Yorkshire in addition to participating at the All Britain All Breed Show in Peterborough.

2019 was a good show year, starting with Blackberry winning Junior Champion at the UK Dairy Expo she then went to the Great Yorkshire Show where she won her Maiden Heifer class and was reserve Junior Champion. Jenny won Jersey Champion at seven shows and reserve Interbreed Dairy Champion at five.

Promoting the Jersey breed is important to me and I am delighted to have this opportunity to welcome the public to our farm to purchase Katherines Jersey Milk.
